Want to know more about Leicester Animal Aid?
Leicester & Leicestershire Animal Aid Association is a rescue and re-homing centre for neglected, abandoned and unwanted dogs and cats with accommodation for up to 75 dogs and 35 cats.
The Association was founded in 1956 by the Late Dorothea Farndon who was affectionately knows as the ‘Florence Nightingale of Animals’. We are a registered charity (registration number 242560) and are wholly reliant on the generosity of local community groups, individuals and businesses. We do not receive any government funding or lottery grants.
We have purpose built, quality animal accommodation set within 4 ½ acres of ground, including canine play areas, agility course, training facilities, Education Centre and luxury cattery with secure outdoor play areas.
Our animal care team are fully qualified, experienced and dedicated to excellent quality of care. We also have the additional benefit of an external, fully qualified animal behaviourist. This ensures that our four legged friends receive all the kindness, love and attention they deserve.
Your Donation ……
will help Leicester Animal Aid continue to provide a second chance until new homes are found. If you would like to make a donation you can do so on-line or contact the Centre for more information.
Your Support ……
is invaluable to us and there are many ways you can help. Would you be willing to have a Collection Tin at your place of work? Maybe you could become involved in one of our many fundraising events or organise your own event? We have many volunteers involved at the Centre, if you have a couple of hours each week to spare maybe you can help. Whilst doing your weekly shop perhaps you could purchase a tin of dog or cat food or an essential product such as bleach, sterilising fluid or bin liners? If you would like further information about supporting us, drop us an email or telephone the Centre. Alternatively, we have more detailed information available from our Home Page.
Membership and Sponsorship
Why not become a member, and you’ll not only receive a regular Newsletter, but you’ll be joining a very special family. For juniors we have a very active club—Huncote Hound Club. We also have animal sponsorship opportunities available either for yourself or as a great Birthday gift. You can find out more about these from our Home Page.
Talks and Tours
Staff and volunteers are always happy to come and talk to schools or local community groups about the work of the Charity and we can also provide tours of the kennels and cattery.
